“GPs are the people who know their patients” - Minister Hunt
AMA President Dr Omar Khorshid and Vice President Dr Chris Moy met with the Minister for Health Greg Hunt this week on Zoom to discuss the COVID-19 vaccine roll out.
The message for Australians to be patient with the roll out of the 1b vaccine and remain vigilant about risk of transmission was highlighted in a Zoom meeting with AMA President and Vice President and Minister for Health Greg Hunt earlier in the week.
Dr Khorshid said, “As we said from the start of the pandemic, this has been an extraordinary logistic challenge that Australia would have to face and I’m really proud to be President of the AMA at a time when general practitioners are stepping up and participating in this critical program.”
Minister Hunt has high praise for GPs across the nation as the vaccine roll out continues.
“Thanks very much to Omar and Chris as President and Vice President of the AMA and you’re right – GPs have done a magnificent job already...GPs are the people who know their patients,” Minister Hunt said.
