AMA Strategy: Here is our plan

The AMA President launched the AMA’s Strategy for 2024–2027 this week ahead of next week’s AGM.

The AMA launched its organisational Strategy for 2024–2027 this week. The strategy clearly maps out our purpose and vision to lead Australia’s doctors and promote Australia's health.

Launching the strategy, AMA President Professor Steve Robson said the AMA is striving to be a vibrant organisation, where doctors make connections and work together to shape the overall health system.

The AMA is also aiming to future-proof our governance to ensure we can continue to advocate for and support our members. To find out more on how we are improving our governance you can hear from the Chair of AMA Audit and Risk Committee, Dr Jessica Dean.

The AMA is urging members to vote yes at the AMA’s Annual General Meeting on 22 May.

A yes vote will secure Tasmania's place in a stronger, united AMA — reinforcing the AMA’s position as the peak medical body in Australia.

We are using an electronic system called ElectionBuddy, which sends out SMS and email prompts in the period leading up to the 20 May deadline to register to submit a proxy.

You can complete and submit proxy forms using ElectionBuddy, or via the online form available on our AGM web pagewhich includes links to relevant documents and more details about the AGM.

To attend in person, the 2024 Annual General Meeting of members of Australian Medical Association Limited will be held via Zoom Webinar at 7:30 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Wednesday 22 May 2024.
