AMA(SA) held a webinar for its members on 6 March 2023, to discuss what the imposition of new payroll tax obligations would mean for South Australian doctors, practices and patients.

AMA Vice President Dr Danielle McMullen and AMA Queensland President Dr Maria Boulton, both general practitioners who have led much of the public advocacy on this issue, joined a panel that included AMA policy director Warwick Hough.

In addition, specialist tax lawyers from the AMA(SA) legal partner, Norman Waterhouse, have considered the implications for practitioners in South Australia and provides an overview of how they believe doctors might respond.
