AMA(SA) bullying summit demands cultural change

 

The Australian Medical Association (SA) staged the AMA(SA) Culture and Bullying Summit on 29 February.

Speakers at the Summit included Health and Wellbeing Minister Stephen Wade, UniSA Professor Michelle Tuckey, AMA(SA) Doctors in Training Committee Chair Dr Hannah Szewczyk and representatives of Doctors' Health, the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and MIGA.

More than 100 participants from across the SA health system attended and offered personal anecdotes, evidence and solutions.

A report summarising the Summit and offering recommendations to the Minister is being prepared.

The Summit was proposed by AMA(SA) President Dr Chris Moy during a Parliamentary Inquiry hearing late last year. Dr Moy's presentation to the Inquiry can be read below.
