As we approach the end of 2022, AMA(SA) President Dr Michelle Atchison and CEO Dr Samantha Mead are taking the opportunity to reflect on the challenges and the achievements of the year.
In the December issue of medicSA, Dr Atchison looks back on the year in her regular column, and Dr Mead and representatives of AMA(SA) committees and affiliated groups consider what has stood out for them in their special areas of interest during 2022.
We also asked local experts to provide the latest recommendations to manage Long COVID, update the status of planning the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and accompany AMA(SA) Council Chair Dr Peter Subramaniam as he follows Christopher Columbus to his resting place in Spain.
