AMA President on 'listening tour' to discuss health reform with Queensland doctors
Federal AMA President, Dr Steve Hambleton, will this week attend a series of meetings with Queensland doctors to discuss the impact of national health reforms – including Medicare Locals, Local Hospital Networks, and GP Super Clinics – at the local level.
Dr Hambleton and AMA Queensland President, Dr Richard Kidd, will hear first hand from GPs how the new Medicare Locals structure will affect them, their practices and their patients. The AMA believes that GPs should have the leading role on the boards of Medicare Locals.
