Motor Accident Injuries Scheme
A new motor accident injuries scheme commenced in the ACT on 1 February 2020. Under the new scheme everyone who is injured in a motor vehicle accident in the ACT will be entitled to receive treatment, care and lost income benefits for up to five years.

An injured person applying for benefits under the scheme will need to get their doctor to complete a medical report form. A fitness for work certificate from a nominated treating doctor or practice will also need to be completed for persons receiving ongoing income benefits.
