Nominations sought for Prostheses List Advisory Committee position
Expressions of interest are sought from AMA members who are surgeons in clinical practice for nomination to the Prostheses List Advisory Committee (PLAC) of the Department of Health. A position will be available from approximately October 2014.
PLAC provides advice to the Minister for Health about prostheses submitted for inclusion on the Prostheses List, the grouping and description of prostheses, and the appropriate private health insurance benefit. AMA nominees represent the AMA's interests but are appointed by the Minister.
If you are interested in nominating please forward your current curriculum vitae, including details of any potential conflicts of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, 19th August.
Nominations will be considered by the AMA Executive before being forwarded to the PLAC secretariat for consideration and potential appointment by the Minister.

· PLAC currently meets 11 times a year, face-to-face in Sydney in the evening for approx 3 hours (dinner provided)
· Members are paid sitting fees in line with remuneration tribunal guidelines – currently $806 per meeting
