MEDIA ADVICE - AMA National Conference, Canberra, 24 - 26 May 2002

The AMA National Conference 2002 will be held in Canberra from 24-26 May 2002.

Information for media:

There is no formal media accreditation necessary for this Conference.

There will be a media conference room and a media work room available at the Canberra Hyatt Hotel for the duration of the Conference. They will be located in the Mt Ainslie Room and the Canberra Room.

Media are welcome to observe the formal policy discussion sessions (listed next page), but debate on motions and questions from the floor will be closed to the media.

The Presidential Statement will be open to the media. Questions from the floor following the Presidential Statement will be closed to the media.

The election of Office Bearers will be closed to the media but results will be made public immediately after the election.

There will be designated media seating at the rear of the main conference room.

TV crews will be allowed into policy discussion sessions under supervision.

Media conferences featuring key speakers will be held after each policy discussion session.
