Overseas & Domestic Travel Insurance

When you travel overseas, there's always one thing you should take with you - the peace of mind that comes with knowing you are protected. Our travel insurances cover you and your family for:

  • Overseas Medical Emergency and Repatriation: unlimited (except emergency dental, limit of $2,500)
  • Resumption of Journey: extra expenses to resume original travel due to death or serious illness of Close Relative, up to $5,000.
  • Hospital Cash: incidental expenses if hospitalised as an in-patient outside Australia, $75 per 24 hours, up to $5,000.
  • Trip Cancellation and Curtailment: loss of irrecoverable deposits and payments due to unavoidable inability to travel, up to $30,000.
  • Loss of Income due to illness or injury preventing work: $3,000 per month, up to $12,000.
  • Personal Baggage: up to $30,000 overall and single item limit/photographic equipment/ laptop, up to $5,000.
  • Hijacking & Detention: $2,000 per 24 hours, up to $28,000 for travel and accommodation costs for a Close Relative at a place of hijacking or detention.
  • Accidental Death resulting from hijacking: up to $400,000 for travel and accommodation costs for a Close Relative at a place of hijacking or detention.
  • Kidnap: $2,000 per 24 hours, up to $28,000.
  • Card Account Balance following accidental death: 100% outstanding charges on Platinum Card.
  • Personal Liability: up to $3,000,000 when incurred during and in respect of a Trip.

International Legal Assistance

Though it may be far from your mind, it's still reassuring to know Platinum will look after you in the event of an emergency. You'll have prompt access to local English-speaking legal professionals. And if need be, we can put you in touch with a reputable solicitor.


International Medical Assistance

As a Platinum Card member you are not only covered for the cost of medial treatment, but also for medical assistance. This may include arrangements for your stay at an appropriate medical facility, referring you to a suitable dentist or physician, or organizing your admission to a suitable hospital.
