AMA President to meet with local doctors in NSW

Federal AMA President, Dr Steve Hambleton, will spend the next two days meeting with local family doctors in New South Wales to hear first hand how they are dealing with health reforms and policies, most notably Medicare Locals, GP Super Clinics, and Local Hospital Networks, with a special focus on working to improve the integration between hospitals and general practice.

Hosted by AMA NSW, Dr Hambleton will attend doctor meetings and medical practices in Newcastle, Wyoming on the Central Coast, Hornsby and Parramatta.

Dr Hambleton’s trip to NSW follows similar visits to grassroots doctors in all the other States and Territories.  The information and feedback from these visits will inform AMA policy and steer future consultation with the Federal Government on health reform.
